• Install, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, wireless networks, firewalls, routers, switches, and other networking equipment. • Analyze and monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, traffic engineering and ensure minimal downtime. • IP resource distribution and interface / rack level planning. • Implement and maintain network security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems. • Design and optimize the university’s network architecture for scalability, redundancy, and performance. • Conduct regular network audits and vulnerability assessments. • Propose necessary hardening of network assets and enforcement of network security protocols and best practices. • Configure and manage VLANs, QoS and other advanced networking features. • Work closely with the system administration team to ensure seamless integration between servers and network infrastructure. • Maintain documentation of network topology, configurations, and policies. • Respond to network-related support requests from faculty, staff, and students. • Assist in planning and executing network upgrades and expansion projects. • Maintaining route objects / data and assigning resources from APNIC portal. • Overseeing peering with various Service Providers to optimize university’s IP traffic. • Ensure periodic backup of all network element configuration. • Supervising migration / replacement of network hardware resources. • Supervision of proactive maintenance, warranties, licenses along with managed service and vendor contracts. • Help prepare annual budgets and project budgets associated to network.
• Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer science from any reputed public or private university/ Ideally, a masters in Computer Science or an MBA from some reputed public or private university.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the IT sector in a network administration or related role and Minimum 5 years of experience in leading a team of IT professionals.
• Experience in an ISP will be considered a plus • Strong knowledge of network hardware (Cisco, Huawei, MikroTik, Ubiquiti, etc.) and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, IPv4 / IPv6, etc.). • Hands-on experience with firewalls, switches, routers and wireless access points. • Experience in configuring and managing VPNs, NAC and network monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, PRTG, SolarWinds). • Network certifications such as CCNA, CCNP or equivalent are highly desirable. • Experience with Software Defined Networking is a plus. • Strong understanding of network security principles.
