• Design, implement, and maintain university-wide server infrastructure, including physical and virtualized environments. • Manage and administer Linux/Unix and Windows-based systems, including performance tuning, system updates, and patch management. • Ensure high availability, reliability, and security of systems including mail servers, file servers, database systems, and web servers. • Lead the backup and disaster recovery strategy and execution. • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to servers, storage platforms, network services, and applications. • Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and enterprise storage solutions. • Automate administrative tasks using scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python, etc.). • Collaborate with the IT team and other departments to support academic and administrative functions. • Implement and maintain cybersecurity best practices, including auditing and vulnerability assessments. • Supervise and mentor junior system administrators and technical staff. • Assist in planning and execution of IT infrastructure projects. • Custodian of cloud platforms associated to the University. • Supervise maintenance of documentation associated to version management of software, architecture and deployment requirements. • Supervise system level synchronization and redundancies are in action. • Conduct disaster drills for team considering system-wide failure scenario. • Lead migration of data and system platforms as and where required. • Supervision of 24/7 operation of services being run within the university. • Plan ahead on system maintenance window and ensure all necessary stakeholders are informed. • Lead optimization of CPU and Storage resources being used in various platforms.
• Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer science from any reputed public or private university/ Ideally, a masters in Computer Science or an MBA from some reputed public or private university.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the IT sector in a system administration or related role and Minimum 5 years of experience in leading a team of IT professionals.
• Experience in an ISP will be considered a plus • Certification in the following areas are preferred: ? Application Security ? Computer Networks ? Cloud Services such as AWS, GCP, Azure or other cloud platforms ? Distributed and Client-server Systems ? Databases ? Operating Systems ? Virtualization/Cloud Technologies • Thorough hands-on experience with Cloud platform systems and OS platforms specially Linux.
